In order to better meet the needs of its growing base of West Coast biotech clients with additional on-the-ground support, GfK Healthcare is pleased to announce the opening of its San Francisco office and the addition of two professionals to its existing West Coast-based staff.

Kate is responsible for managing client relationships on behalf of GfK Healthcare in northern California and the Northwest, including Seattle and Vancouver. To better serve the needs of her client companies, Kate is based in the Bay Area, enabling clients to meet with her in person or by telephone – all in one geography and time zone. Kate is committed to growing GfK Healthcare’s relationships on the West Coast and works closely with our researchers to ensure excellent client support.
Having worked on both the client and agency sides, Kate understands the life sciences business and clients’ absolute need for insightful research from reliable partners. With a background that includes marketing, sales and medical affairs at top-tier life sciences companies, Kate has run her own consulting practice as well as managed client relationships for two other life science consulting firms. Her category experience spans autoimmune diseases, oncology, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and neuroscience. She has also worked extensively with clinicians and key opinion leaders. Before joining GfK Healthcare, Kate was Director, Strategic Accounts at Datamonitor.

 Birgit Eschmann, Dipl.-Psych.

Research & Consulting
Birgit is responsible for providing oversight for all client custom studies. In addition to leading a team of market research managers, she personally ensures that her research projects from design to analysis and reporting are on time and on target.
Birgit’s expertise spans a breadth of customers and stages in the research process; her career background includes project work, analytics and client services, including custom and syndicated studies, using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Before immigrating to the United States, Birgit served as a researcher for the Ministry of Education in Luxembourg and taught educational psychology and statistics at the University of Bonn’s Institute of Educational Sciences. Before joining GfK Healthcare, she was manager of global market research projects at Consumer Health Sciences and a senior manager of client service for Ziment.
Birgit holds a Diplom-Psychologie degree (equivalent to an M.S./M.A.) from the University of Bonn in Germany.
